Schoolhouse Beach

Schoolhouse Beach is one of the many pristine beaches nestled along the rugged Sonoma coast. Just beyond the bluffs to the north is the much larger Portuguese Beach. The distant headland is the Meyer's Grade area beyond the mouth of the Russian River. During most of the winter months, this part of the coast is hammered by huge surf that is generated by wild storms in the North Pacific. The waves often travel for thousands of miles before reaching California. The original painting is an oil on canvas, 30"x 40". Siefert collection.
