Planted sometime in the 1940s, the Batten family gravenstein orchard covered many acres around Sexton Road in the hills west of Sebastopol. Over the years it has become a residential area. This 24"x 36"oil on canvas shows one of the last remnants of the orchard at the very end of West Sexton Rd., looking north toward Mt. St. Helena. It is early April and the apple blossoms are at their peak.
